What Every Calendar Says About October 23/24
October 20, 2026
Editor's note
I’m not sure about everyone else, but I can’t wrap my brain around any of @Rapture2025Confirmation‘s date math, so I dug into the claims today. Turns out that It doesn’t make sense because it’s just not founded in reality.
Rapture 2025 Confirmation’s newest date is October 23/24, 2026, which Christy Deurloo calls “the REAL Day of Atonement” (timeline entry). Since September 2025 she has explained each failed date by saying the calendar, not the prediction, was wrong. Over that year three corrections have been stacked on top of each other: the Julian calendar, a 30-day offset, and a missing year zero.
Each of these can be checked against free, public sources that anyone, including her, can look up. This note checks them. It sets autumn 2026 out on every calendar involved: the one we use, the Julian, the Hebrew, and the Hebrew calendar kept the way it was in Jesus’ day, with each month begun by sighting the moon (reconstructed here from this year’s actual sightings). Then it sets out hers.
Which Calendar Existed in Jesus’ Day?
Two did, and they did different jobs.
| Calendar | Who used it | What for |
|---|---|---|
| Julian (Julius Caesar, 45 BC) | The Roman Empire, including Judea | Civil life: taxes, government, Roman festivals |
| Hebrew (lunar months, seasonal year) | Jews in Judea and abroad | Religion: Sabbaths, Passover, Pentecost, Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles |
| Gregorian (Pope Gregory XIII, 1582) | Did not exist yet | — |
The feasts Jesus kept were set by the Hebrew calendar, not the Julian. A month began when the new crescent moon was seen. Witnesses reported it to the court in Jerusalem, which declared the new month (Mishnah Rosh Hashanah 2). When a year was running ahead of the seasons, the court added a thirteenth month. It looked at whether the barley was ripe, whether the fruit was ripe, and the season (Sanhedrin 11). The Gospels date events in the same way, by feasts and by rulers (“the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar,” Luke 3:1). They never use Roman calendar dates.
The calculated Hebrew calendar in use today replaced moon-sighting later. Jewish tradition attributes it to Hillel II around AD 359, though historians debate the date (Peninei Halakha; Hakirah). Today’s calendar and the sighted one usually agree to within a day.

Hebrew days begin at sunset the evening before. In Jesus’ day nobody wrote a year as “2026” or “5787”; years were named after rulers.
How each column was worked out:
- Julian: today’s date minus 13 days. It is a fixed relabelling with no connection to the moon or the feasts.
- Hebrew, today’s calendar: taken from Hebcal. October 23, 2026 is 12 Cheshvan 5787.
- Hebrew, moon-sighted: people still watch for the crescent from Jerusalem. On the evening of September 12, 2026 it was seen with the naked eye from Gilo, Jerusalem (report), which makes September 13 the first day of the seventh month. The next crescent was first seen from Israel on the evening of October 12 (report). Moon phase times are from the US Naval Observatory.
- No thirteenth month this year: Passover (April 2) fell after the spring equinox (March 20). Tabernacles fell after the autumn equinox (September 23) (USNO). Barley watchers reported the barley ripe by March 19 (report). None of the ancient grounds for adding a month applied.
- Christy’s calendar: today’s date minus 30 days and minus one year. The mapping is in her own words: “23/9/2025 is equivalent to 23/10/2026.”
On every real calendar in the table, October 23/24 is an ordinary day in the month after the autumn feasts.
Correction 1: The Julian Calendar (September 2025)
Where it came from. Joshua Mhlakela’s date was September 23–24, 2025, the Feast of Trumpets. The next day, BroScott (@broscott28, already listed in The Network) published “Joshua is Still Right.” (video, 73,000 views). It argued that the calendar “everyone was following in Jesus’s day” was the Julian, “13 days behind,” and that Joshua’s word had named no calendar. On September 26, Christy’s first video carried the same title, “Joshua is still right! Exodus 2025” (video), and made the same argument: the Catholic Church “inserted days into our current calendar,” so “we are now past this 9/23–9/24 and we shouldn’t be.” By October 3 the failure was attributed to Joshua’s arithmetic: “just because his math was off doesn’t mean the prophecy is off” (video). Nothing in Joshua’s own archived transcripts uses the Julian calendar.
What the record shows:
- Days were removed, not inserted. In 1582, Thursday, October 4 was followed by Friday, October 15. Ten days were dropped to bring the spring equinox back into place (Britannica).
- The 13-day gap did not exist in Jesus’ day. The Julian year is about 11 minutes too long, so the gap grows slowly. In the first century the Julian calendar ran about two days ahead of where the Gregorian would have been, the opposite direction from today. The two matched in the 200s, and the gap reached 13 days only in 1900 (conversion table). A date moved by 13 days is a modern relabelling, not the calendar Jesus lived by.
- The feasts never ran on the Julian calendar. It was Rome’s civil calendar. Even in Rome its first decades were irregular: leap days were added every three years by mistake until Augustus corrected it around 8 BC (Tøndering).
The objection was raised at once. Five days after the failed date, HamrickCE (video) said no one would turn to the Julian calendar “unless they’re trying to buy themselves another 13 days.”
The Julian correction is still in use. Christy’s “tribulation clock” says it “started on October 6 and 7, 2025, which was actually September 23 and 24 in the Julian calendar” (Glossary).
Correction 2: “Time Is Off by 30 Days” (April–May 2026)
Where it came from. The argument started on Joshua Mhlakela’s channel, in short videos by guest presenters rather than by Joshua himself. It rests on one line from the historian Josephus: Passover falls “on the fourteenth day of the lunar month, when the sun is in Aries” (Antiquities 3.248, Whiston translation).
- April 8, 2026: “THE TRUE PASSOVER” (video) shows, in astronomy software, that at Passover in AD 33 the sun stood in the constellation Aries. At Passover in 2026 it stood in Pisces. The presenter concludes that today’s calendar is wrong.
- May 5, 2026: “TIME IS OFF BY 30 DAYS: GOD’S SEPTEMBER IS OUR OCTOBER” (video), presented by Trilani (WYNNIE), draws the conclusion: “we are off by 30 days,” and “October 23rd, 2025 is the real Feast of Trumpets.”
Christy’s first response, on May 5, was caution: the video came from “Joshua’s friend” and was “not coming directly from the Holy Spirit necessarily” (video). By May 22 she had adopted it, crediting “a friend of his that put on his YouTube page” the claim that true Passover falls when “the sun is in the constellation of Aries” (video). She dated that “true Passover” to May 1, 2026, the first full moon after the sun entered the constellation. In her October 13 video (video) she applies it to the autumn: Passover “was supposed to be celebrated when the sun was in the constellation of Aries. In 2026, that didn’t happen until May 1st,” so the Feast of Trumpets moves “30 days later … from October 11th to 13th.” That window passed.
What the record shows:
- Her May 1 is real astronomy. By the astronomers’ constellation boundaries the sun enters Aries on April 18–19 (EarthSky), and May 1, 2026 is the first full moon after that (USNO). The problem isn’t the arithmetic. It’s the assumption that the feasts follow the stars.
- The April 8 video’s own example shows why. At the same point in the season, Passover had the sun in Aries in AD 33 and in Pisces in 2026. The calendar didn’t move. The stars did. The Earth’s axis slowly wobbles (precession), about one degree every 72 years (Skyscript), roughly 28 degrees since the first century. That is about four weeks of the sun’s travel. In Josephus’ day the spring equinox and the stars of Aries roughly coincided, so “when the sun is in Aries” and “after the spring equinox” came to the same thing. They no longer do. The Jewish sources tie the year to the seasons, not to the background stars (Sanhedrin 11).
- It isn’t a fixed 30 days. Read by the constellation, the rule moves the calendar a whole lunar month in some years and not at all in others, depending on where that spring’s full moon falls.
Correction 3: The Missing Year Zero (October 2026)
As first published on May 5, the 30-day correction produced October 23, 2025. That date had already passed. To carry the same numbers into 2026, Christy’s October 19 video (video) adds a third correction: because there was no year zero between 1 BC and AD 1, “2026 is actually 2025.”
What the record shows: Dionysius Exiguus devised the AD count in 525, starting from AD 1. Counting backward from 1 BC was popularised later, by Bede in 731. The two counts meet at 1 BC and AD 1, with no year between (Wikipedia: Year zero). That gap matters only when counting years across the BC/AD line. Astronomers, who do that, renumber the BC years to include a year 0 (1 BC becomes year 0), but they leave every AD year unchanged (NASA). No system of year numbering, with a year zero or without, makes 2026 into 2025.
Her Own Rule Doesn’t Give October 23/24
Take her 30-day rule exactly as stated. It moves every feast one month later: the seventh month becomes the month that starts after the October 10 new moon. The Day of Atonement is the tenth day of that month. Written the way she writes dates, sunset to sunset, that is October 20/21 counting from today’s Hebrew calendar, or October 21/22 counting from the October 12 sighting in Jerusalem. Her own Feast of Trumpets of October 11–13 gives the same answer: Atonement falls nine days after Trumpets.
October 23/24 is two to three days later than that. The video gets there by counting days from Trumpets and stopping at “day 13, which would be Friday, October 23rd, and Saturday, October 24th”, not at day 10.
The supporting sign doesn’t settle it either. Her October 20 posts, a series about a dream by Stefan Burns, say “a waxing gibbous” moon occurs at the “REAL” Day of Atonement. On a lunar calendar the tenth day of every month is a waxing gibbous moon. The sign fits every month of the year, so it cannot pick out one date.
What This Shows
For thirteen months the starting point has been the same date: Joshua’s September 23–24, 2025. Each correction reads that one date through a different calendar.
| When | The date becomes | Reached by |
|---|---|---|
| Joshua, 2025 | September 23–24, 2025 | The Feast of Trumpets as calendars showed it |
| September 2025 | October 6–7, 2025 | Reading it as a Julian date (+13 days) |
| April–May 2026 | October 23, 2025 | ”Time is off by 30 days” |
| October 2026 | October 23/24, 2026 | 30 days, plus “2026 is actually 2025” |
The feast changed along the way. Joshua’s date was the Feast of Trumpets. Christy’s mapping, “23/9/2025 is equivalent to 23/10/2026,” now makes the same date her Day of Atonement.
Each correction appeared after a date had failed. Each starts from something real: the Julian calendar, a line of Josephus, the stars of Aries, the missing year zero. None of them, checked against public sources, puts a feast on October 23/24, 2026. By her own 30-day rule, Atonement falls two to three days earlier.
The Reframing Toolkit lists “calendar switch” as one strategy among many. This record shows it in more detail: three successive calendar corrections, applied to the same date over thirteen months.
A Note on Sources and Method
Everything above can be checked from free public sources. Christy’s, Joshua’s and BroScott’s words come from auto-generated YouTube captions of archived videos, which can mishear individual words. Moon phase and equinox times are from the US Naval Observatory. The crescent sightings are from independent observer groups, not an official authority; such groups sometimes disagree by a day. The Hillel II date for the calculated Hebrew calendar is traditional and debated.
